Jocola Music Tour/Pro Boxing, Sports
In 2016 Joe Jackson and John Taylor planning ahead to relaunch “Jocola the Signature Soft Drinks by Joe Jackson” would celebrate the Jackson 50th Anniversary in the music business by introducing the Jacksons Golden Tour in Nigeria” In 2016 the JACKSON’S musical group (formerly known as “Jackson 5”) marked a golden anniversary on the global musical stage, though without Michael Jackson, who died in 2009. The tour map included Africa; Nigeria became a preference take-off country due to its strategic place on the continent’s entertainment as well as the quantum of fans of the musical group. Arena Plus became the official tour partner, through an arrangement by John Taylor co-owner founder of the JOCOLA brand, (whose suspended production and distribution the agreement had lapsed in the same year).
The tour promotion agreement included an exclusive bottling and distribution franchise for JOCOLA in Nigeria awarded to FTR Technologies Limited by JOCOLA INTERNATIONAL. Despite a successful pre-tour visit of Jermaine Jackson in April 2016 and collaboration with strategic project partners that include Get Involve, Lagos State Government the event was suspended due to a clash in event date occasioned by the change in date of the wedding ceremony of the daughter of the Wife of the President and the prolonged medical tour of the President in 2017. With the suspended “Jacksons Golden Tour in Nigeria” project, the franchisee effort for JOCOLA launch in Nigeria continued on all fronts.
This led to the registration of Mega Bottling Company (MBC) Limited, as a Special Project Vehicle for JOCOLA Bottling in Nigeria, now more of an industry norm and unwritten rule, e.g., Coca Cola (Nigeria Bottling Company “NBC”), Pepsi Cola (Seven-Up Bottling Company), and Lacasera (Classic Beverages) etc.,
The Jacksons Musical Dynasty and JOCOLA with the passing away of Joe Jackson in July 2018, John Taylor and the family decided to use JOCOLA to sustain his legacies and a platform for Joe Jackson to give back to the the world as a bottled heritage. The discussion for collaboration was opened again with Jermaine Jackson and Janet Jackson. Joe’s dream was to feature all the Jackson’s in concert so full-filling Joe’s wises John Taylor is focusing on a renewed engagement with Nigeria for 2022 and 2023. With plans to feature The Jackson’s, Janet and 3T Musical group a second generation and other musical grandchildren. Joe & Katherine have been blessed with many talented Grandchildren in all areas of business as well as music and I would love for the world to see all of them in a featured concert promoted by Mega Bottling Company, especially for JOCOLA International Beverage Company.
